PIP Highlights from July to September 2025
The PEI Immigration Partnership (PIP) continues to bring people together to make Prince Edward Island a more welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. Here are some highlights from the second quarter of 2025.
From July to September, PIP worked with many partners and community groups to support newcomers across the Island. A major event this quarter was the At Home in the Atlantic conference in Charlottetown, co-hosted by ARAISA and IRSA PEI. The event brought together newcomers, educators, and community leaders to share stories and ideas about belonging and how to help immigrants stay and build their lives in Atlantic Canada.
PIP also ran a survey at the DiverseCity Festival in seven PEI communities. Immigrants who took part said the main reasons they stay on PEI are the peaceful lifestyle, welcoming community, good schools and childcare, stable jobs, and family connections. The Immigrant Advisory Table (IAT) identified new priorities for the year, which will inform PIP's work going forward. This quarter, IRSA welcomed 492 new clients from 60 countries—and the PIP team is happy to welcome Nancy Clement as the new Project Coordinator starting in October.
