New immigrants - permanent or temporary residents - who would like to learn more about renting a house or an apartment and learn more about renting law in PEI are encouraged to attend in person on join in online.

Are you an international student studying in PEI? Are you a new immigrant renting a house or apartment during your stay? Are you unsure about the renting law on PEI? We've got you covered!

On Thursday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m., IRSA is presenting an information session with Rowen Gallant of rentingpei. Come learn about your rights and responsibilities as tenants living and learning on Prince Edward Island.

Topics will include:

  • What to look for in a lease agreement
  • How to navigate living with roommates
  • How to deal with conflict with your landlord
  • Renting units vs. renting rooms
  • Damage deposits
  • Tips on leaving your rental happily
  • Questions and answers period

Canadian law protects renters and landlords, and knowing your rights can save you money and stress.
